Get to Know Dr. Grace Jun, DDS

Dr. Grace Jun was raised in Lawton, Oklahoma and came from humble beginnings. She began her college years on a full dance scholarship to the University of Oklahoma and the University of Central Oklahoma. During her time there, she never expected to fall in love with mission work. She traveled to Moscow and Mexico where a seed of suffering and a heavy global burden of people across the world was planted. While her husband was on a dental/medical mission trip she learned that the team that was able to provide the most immediate pain relief to hundreds of people were dentists, whereas physicians were limited in treatment due to their lack of technology (blood work, x-rays, biopsies, etc.) in third world country settings. She wanted to experience this herself and went on her first dental mission trip as an “instrument sterilizer” and realized that dentists gave immediate pain relief too many people through extractions. These people walked for many hours and waited in the hot sun for 2-5 hours to get treatment that only a dentist could provide. During the mission trip, she realized what an AMAZING gift this profession possessed. Dr. Grace Jun was inspired to immediately enroll at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in which she graduated with recognition in Removable Prosthodontics and received the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Award.

After graduation, Dr. Grace Jun began working for Corporate Dentistry (Dental Service Organizations - DSO) and realized that dentistry was becoming commoditized by corporations. She felt that the corporations were ruining an honorable profession of service and believed that patients deserved better than what was being offered. Dr. Grace Jun believes that Dentistry should be a private small local business owned and operated by the practicing dentist. She believes that the care, integrity, responsibility, and level of professionalism is at a higher standard when the owner of the practice is the practicing dentist. Dr. Grace Jun is active in many academic study clubs, masterminds, and is up-to-date on the latest technology and advances in dentistry. She practices her skill with perfection and is overfilled with knowledge. The thing she loves about dentistry is the relationships she is able to build with her patients.

A Personal Note About Dr. Grace

She is not a big sports fan EXCEPT when it comes to the Summer and Winter Olympics - she loves the Olympics. Go Team USA! Dr. Grace Jun is excited to finally tailor dentistry to the patient's needs and desires and looks forward to meeting you at Pragma Dental OKC.
